Christmas in March!
Seriously, I love donuts. I love donuts so much that I even have the limited edition Voodoo Doughnut tracksuit. Some of the best vegan donuts (at least on the West Coast) can be found at Seattle (Mighty-O), Las Vegas (Ronald’s), and Portland (Voodoo Doughnuts). It’s a shame that I don’t live close to any of those donuts!
My buddy Mark gave me a gift card to Target this last Christmas and I have saving it for something awesome. Last week I found donut pans on Target’s website. I ordered two of the pans and they came in the mail today, woo hoo! I decided to try out the chocolate cupcake recipe from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World with the pan since I don’t have any donut recipes. They turned out pretty wonderful and I can’t wait to try out other recipes.
I find it amusing that I’ve been with you to two of the three doughnut places!
Oh lord, I love doughnuts! I think I have a few recipes for them on the blog. I hear that Psycho Donuts in San Jose is working on vegan recipes. We should harass them!
Psycho donuts is one of the sponsors of my roller derby league (they had a donut eating contest at one of our half time shows). I have been bugging them about getting vegan donuts and they say they are working on them. The folks that run Psycho are really sweet and I’m hoping that they make it happen. Let’s start a vegan psycho donut campaign! I think they need guidance on what topping would be vegan (stuff like cereals, caramel, or cookies).
